Horse trekking $250 pp/day
Our two day trek begins in Ruatahuna and follows the Whakatāne river north. Ride through pristine rivers, native forest and open flats, stopping at one of the most isolated Maraes in New Zealand – Ohaua. Cook lunch by the river and swim the horses before arriving at Tawhiwhi hut where we spend the night. The following day we retrace our tracks back to Ruatahuna, passing by the wild Tūhoe horse herds and arriving back to the farm at approximately 3:00pm.
2 day minimum, 2 person minimum – 5 persons maximum
Age restriction – 16+ (exceptions can be made based on riding experience)
Previous riding experience preferred but not necessary.
No shower or electricity.
Trout fishing horse trek $350 pp/day
Experience fishing like never before. Ride on horseback to pristine, untouched locations in search for the big one. Fly camp by the river overnight or stay at a bush hut. Sit back and enjoy the scenery while having your fresh catch prepared traditionally or share your favourite recipe with us.

Hunting horse trek $400 pp/day
Trek down the picturesque Whakatāne river during the day to beautiful public and private blocks. Spend the mornings, evenings and night stalking the Whenua (land) for a range of species including Rusa, Red deer and pigs. Keep in mind that all animals are completely free range and nothing can be guaranteed. This is real hunting and a real adventure.
